The Social Action Committee Wants You!  The Social Action Committee functions as an altruistic benevolent arm of HJC. Much has been accomplished but much more remains to be done to bring about “Tikkum Olam” – the repair of the world. Our major social action programs:

HIHI - Huntington interfaith homeless initiative

 HIHI stands for Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative which is a Family Service League program. This program helps safely house and feed homeless individuals in the Huntington area. We are looking for volunteers to prepare meals on the below dates: December 25th, January 1st & 15th, February 5th & 19th, March 19th.. We are looking for new volunteers as well as our long standing volunteers. the jewish nutritional network (jnn) at hjc

The JNN helps feed families and children in need.  For years the dedicated volunteers of our JNN have been there to help feed those in need.  In the midst of these economically challenging times, the need dramatically has increased with JNN now preparing meals for the greater Huntington community.    The increased demand for food for those in need has strained the JNN’s finances. PLEASE HELP the JNN continue to provide a meal to a family or child in need.  DONATE TODAY AT    https://hjc.shulcloud.com/payment.php   or by mail to HJC.
