Jewish Military News
TheBrave@USCJ is a new listserv established and hosted by The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism for the families of Jewish active duty military. Our servicemen and women face the uncertainties of the coming months; those who love them are discovering the need to be brave, just as those who serve. This listserv provides a place for family members to feel connected to others who understand this unique challenge.
To subscribe to the list, simply send an E-Mail message to listserv@uscj.org with NO SUBJECT (some providers demand one so use a "," or a SPACE) and type "subscribe the brave Your Name" as the message. Or join the list via the web at: http://uscj.org/archives/thebrave.html
JNN
The Jewish Nutritional Network, functioning as an arm of the Social Action Committee, continues to provide meals for our community homeless - families and individuals who have been victims of economic, physical, as well as social misfortunes. Every Sunday morning, a group of dedicated volunteers, prepare and deliver a nutritious lunch at an approximate cost to JNN of one dollar per individual. This program is totally dependant upon contributions. Your support would be greatly appreciated by JNN but, perhaps more importantly, by the recipients of this service.
ISRAEL EMERGENCY COMMITTEE NEWS:
Much has been written lately about the importance of being informed regarding the rapidly changing situation in Israel. Much has also been written about the difficulty of finding reliable information. We encourage the HJC membership to subscribe to the "Daily Alert," a digest of news and commentary on Israel, which is published by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. With so much information being put forth that is one-sided at best, and biased or untrue at worst, this digest can be relied upon for accurate up-to-date information, as well as links to a variety of other worthwhile news sources. To subscribe, send a blank email message to: daily-subscribe@jcps.org.
TORAH TEASERS HAS GONE INTERACTIVE
You can now receive Torah Teasers each week and discuss the Torah Reading with other members of the congregation on the Torah Teaser List. If you would like to be added to the TT list, please send the message, "Subscribe" to huntington-jc-request@uscj.org.

More than 100 families are on our Cybershul list. Each week Rabbi Kurshan sends out Torah Teasers which includes questions for discussion around your dinner table on Shabbat. Recent questions include: Why do Jews leave stones rather than flowers when visiting the cemetery? Did Paul O'Neill do the right thing when he played in the World Series the day his father died? Does Judaism believe that human nature is fundamentally good or bad? If you would like to join our Cybershul community, please E Mail the Webmaster at the Web site or leave your E Mail address with Lisette.
